Duaplate is a chromium carbide composite cladding that is fusion bonded to a base material. Duaplate is renowned for being one of the most abrasive resistant surfaces available. Duaplate is available in a range of different grades to suit a variety of operating conditions as outlined in the section below.
The standard backing material is a mild steel, however, this can be changed to suit your operating environment. The backing plate acts as a ductile base, which allows Duaplate to be formed and shaped without damage to the overlay material. The backing plate can also be used for structural support, allowing entire hoppers and chutes to be created using only Duaplate.
Grades
Duaplate comes in four different overlay grades designed for material handling in different operating environments.

Suited for applications involving high abrasion with moderate to high impact. The overlay material of Duaplate D60 is primarily M7C3 carbides in a eutectic matrix of austenite and carbide. D60 is based on AS2576-2355. |

Suited for applications involving high abrasion and high impact. The overlay material of Duaplate D80 consists of M7C3 carbides in a complex, carbide, austenite matrix. Duaplate D80 achieves superior toughness with the formation of the complex nodular carbides, leading to a reduction in size of the acicular M7C3 carbides and inter-carbide spacing. D80 is based on AS2576-2455. |

Suited for applications involving severe sliding abrasion or fine particle abrasion with low impact. The overlay material of Duaplate D90 consists primarily of M7C3 carbides in a carbide, martensite, eutectic matrix. D90 is based on AS2576-2560. |
 D100/D100XP (314kb pdf) |
Suited for applications requiring high abrasion resistance at elevated temperatures up to 800oC. The overlay material of Duaplate D100/D100XP consists of M7C3 carbides in a complex, carbide, austenite, matrix. High temperature performance is improved with the addition of a greater percentage of refractory elements Molybdenum, Niobium and Tungsten. D100/D100XP is based on AS2576-2460. |
Duasmooth - Duaplate can also be produced with a smooth or polished finish to reduce material hang up and to maximise flow properties.
